Had black 17' inch rims and clear coat started to peel of .. light sand last years using rust-o-leon paint and I want able to keep a smooth and shiny finish to it .. tried wax.. compound adding clear coat .. nothing to do so I sandblast it down and started all over to the bare metal .. used 2 can of 2-1 self hitching primer for the 4 years and then .. a can of automotive primer that I spray with my hvlp gun at 40psi. At this point that was a good finish already no orange peel... and now I'm spr.
